Hard work runs M13Y.

Matthew Connolly, Founder

Matthew began his e-commerce career at the age of 14 when he opened his first store, called the Worldwide Discount Emporium on eBay. This store sold newspaper coupons from the Sunday newspaper through weekly eBay auctions. From there Matthew has grown the Worldwide Discount Emporium into Office Athletic and has expanded its offerings from a single product to hundreds.

Through a commitment to e-commerce, a passion for transportation and sourcing, strategic partnerships, effective advertising campaigns, and key wholesale relationships the companies of M13Y have experienced healthy growth and success. By combining ethical and efficient sourcing with world-class cost-effective logistics and advanced consumer research for keyword optimization Matthew has taken M13Y from a weekly hobby to a full-time business interacting with thousands and thousands of customers each year.

Matthew is currently a 4th year student at Northeastern University with a Major in International Business, Minor in Spanish Language & Culture and Concentrations in Supply Chain Management and Finance.

Concurrently with M13Y, Matthew has worked as a Financial Analyst Intern at Amazon where he assisted the eCommerce Platform team in identifying reporting gaps which were leading to millions of dollars in under-capitalization of software development costs and developed a software based solution. He also completed a detail analysis of Amazon's laptop procurement policies, leading to a recommendation to reduce the laptop lifecycle which was incorporated into C-level reports regarding technology procurement at Amazon.

Additionally, he has interned at United Parcel Service in a business development and marketing role serving the Northeast Region as well as at Arnold Worldwide where he worked with the Business Strategy team on brand positioning for agency clients.
